Description
I was inspired by ultralight backpacking gear to make a waterproof, lightweight, laptop bag that doubles as a backpack when I feel like walking to work. The fabric is called Dyneema it basically indestructible because it’s original use was for sailboat sales. It is super slim so it’s a great padded laptop sleeve that slides into other larger bags when needed but when I want to use it as a laptop bag / backpack the stretchy outer pocket has plenty of room for notebooks, keys, hard drives, etc. In this video I show you how I made the bag and the straps that go along with it. Enjoy!

Sew … faraday backpack … Darwin is a backpacker we follow too. Watched all your videos and left a project suggestion on the workbench video. 😂 I’m in need of a work bench in my garage but I don’t have room for a work bench…
Great stuff.
Now I’m wondering if i can modify an existing sleeve to work like this for my 17″ laptop. Only concern would be for space for the charger.
Wow! I’d love buying something like that. Considering buying a laptop sleeve and modifying it with backpack straps somehow.
Thank you for this quick and easy make! I have to make a bag for a hiker, and he wants to take his laptop too, but doesn’t want an extra bag, and he also wants to have quick access to it. (Hope that makes sense? I will just incorporate some loops on the hiking bag’s shoulder straps, and make a long strap that he can use as a back pack type laptop bag when he needs to!)
